Towards the end of studying for my Graphic Design HND at Hereford College of Arts, I experimented with image-making using a desktop scanner - a piece of equipment designed to digitise 2D documents.
I removed the lid of my scanner and turned it onto its side, making a 'camera'.
The qualities of the resulting images include a very short depth of field, wild colours, with an intriguing opportunity to capture images that show both time and space.
Scans were printed onto canvas, mounted onto stretchers, and have been exhibited in Shropshire and Herefordshire.

Scanography: using a desktop digital scanner as a camera, I created images that capture a 5-second theatre as the scanning head passes by.
